Description
This mill, located on the western side of the Ourthe, at Lavacherie, was active as early as the 15th century, and ceased its activity in 1914. In 1912 it played the role of a hydroelectric plant, providing electricity for street lighting in the village, but also for private houses. Today, although the infrastructure no longer exists, the canal that used to deviate water from the Ourthe and the remains of the wheel are still visible behind the building, facing the village. The village had its moment of glory during the 19th century, thanks to the boot making industry. (Original text by MT du Pays de Bastogne)
