Description
The Hollange Mill B-6637 Fauvillers Active for more than six centuries to this very day, at the heart of the Ardennes plateau, the hydraulic mill at Hollange is a living witness to the exceptional craftsmanship traditional in the Ardennes. Documents from the Court of Counts dating from the 15th century (1475) and legal acts of leases and legacy linking the Hollange mill to the Empress Marie-Thérèse of Austria (1758) and to Count Ferraris (1777) bear witness to the historical character of this hydraulic mill, built on a tributary of the river Sûre, more than three centuries before the end of the era of common mills. Still in activity, the mill at Hollange has at its disposal two sources of hydraulic power, alimented by a mill course 900 meters long that comes from the river Strange.
